Trahan: Ritual de lo Habitual

Dear Mr. Trahan:

Thank you so much for your generous comments and for the links to your website. We got back late last night, but I couldn't resist looking at your website and reading several of the articles posted there.

Although I am not much of a fisherman, I enjoyed what I read a great deal and will no doubt be ravenously finishing it off in the days, weeks, months to come; so please, write more articles quick!

You've definitely captured the same elements that drive us back to the Mexican playa on a regular basis. In recent years we're finding it harder and harder to really get away from all of the gringos to a spot that is ours and no one else's, but it is still possible. (Although expansion of the free zone will no doubt accelerate the demise of such places.)

It's nice to know we still have soul mates out there, would-be hermits whose greatest desire is to be unexpectedly marooned on a lonely playa without a cell phone. We'll be watching for a lone surf-caster with huge kites, and like you we won't pick a spot too close by.

Thank you again for writing. Please accept our highest regards; we'll be watching your site.

Sincerely,
L. Fox

Dear Adam:

In your hang-gliding articles you have an interesting photograph entitled "Cross country day at Shaw Butte". It's interesting to me because I can almost see the house I lived in during the first 20 years of my first life. During that period Shaw Butte was indeed a daily presence in our family, and we spent a lot of time watching the hang-gliders coming off the mountain - including one unlucky flier that lost his life by crashing into the mountain in a freak wind burst.

Sincerely,
L. Fox

Hang gliding is a dangerous sport, I paraglide now off of South Mountain in the winter, a little cooler, a little more mellow . . .

Take it easy,

Adam

I'm glad I asked you where you linked to my website, because I not only found the nicest link ever made to our site, but once I figured out how to navigate to it from scratch I also found a wealth of new, heretofore overlooked information. The link to El Golfo de Santa Clara is alone enough, but I found much, much more.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,
L. Fox
