My husband Oscar and I bought the old Hernando's Hideaway night club in Jan. 2005.
We only open on Friday and Sat. night until July 1st.
Alot of people in Memphis don't realize the Hideaway is still open. We plan to do alot of things with it but advertising is sooo expensive. Maybe we can squeez it in our budget in July.
Just wanted to let you know we ARE OPEN.

Thank you,

Dear Stephanie:

Thank you for your comments. We are very pleased to hear that Hernando's Hideaway is still surviving. We wish you success, and hope you'll find a way to continue the atmosphere of the past that Hernando's is famous for. (Although we're admittedly biased, our hearts are with the old pre-tourism atmosphere!) There are so few Memphis landmarks left that we always ache when another one is lost.

We have the last chapter of Tennessee Rainforest nearly ready to be posted (est. 1-2 months); we hope you'll return to read it when it is finally posted. It will include the power outage (for us, two weeks' duration), and a large number of pictures of the resultant damage in addition to galleries of photographs of many minor Memphis inner-city landmarks.
